Representing excellence recognized by music's professional community, it's no surprise when GRAMMY winners come out ahead at other awards shows. This proved to be the case at the 2017 BET Awards on June 25.
GRAMMY winner Beyoncé was the top winner, taking home five awards, including Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, Album of the Year for Lemonade and the Viewers' Choice Award.
Though not in attendance — the 22-time GRAMMY winner recently gave birth to twins — Queen Bey still managed to get a word in. Her protégés Chloe x Halle accepted the latter award on her behalf and read a special message.
"Thank you BET for this award and your tremendous support of Lemonade," wrote Beyoncé in her first public remarks since giving birth. "This has been a journey of love, of celebrating our culture, honoring the past, and approaching the present and future with hope and resolve."

Bruno Mars was among the other GRAMMY winners stealing the spotlight. He took home two awards: Best Male R&B/Pop Artist and Video of the Year for "24K Magic," which he shared with Beyoncé's "Sorry."
GRAMMY winner Kendrick Lamar won Best Male Hip-Hop Artist, while GRAMMY winner Lecrae took home the Best Gospel/Inspirational Award. Solange's GRAMMY-winning "Cranes In The Sky" took home the Centric Award.
Chance The Rapper not only won Best New Artist — he also won Best New Artist at the 59th GRAMMY Awards — he was also honored with the prestigious BET Humanitarian Award. He is the youngest recipient of the award to date.
Former first lady Michelle Obama celebrated the occasion, saying, "Chance is showing our young people that they matter. Because of you, countless young people will grow up believing in themselves."
"This is wildly overwhelming," Chance said. "I didn't prepare a speech because I wanted to speak from my heart. I'm 24 and to be receiving something like this at my age feels good as hell."
