First-time GRAMMY winners A Great Big World recently participated in an exclusive GRAMMY.com interview, discussing the unexpected success of "Say Something" and collaborating with Christina Aguilera. The duo also visited The Recording Academy's headquarters in Santa Monica, Calif., to perform the GRAMMY-winning hit from their debut album, Is There Anybody Out There?

"It wasn't a part of our plan," said Ian Axel. "We never thought ["Say Something"] was going to do what it did at all because most of our music is upbeat and positive … but there's a bigger plan and [sometimes] you just have to go with the flow."

A Great Big World — comprising Axel and Chad Vaccarino — formed in 2010 when the singer/songwriters met as music business students at New York University. They released a self-titled EP in 2012 and gained wider recognition in 2013 when "This Is The New Year" was covered on the hit television series "Glee." That same year the duo signed to Epic Records and released a three-song EP, which featured "Say Something." The track caught the attention of Aguilera after it was featured on an episode of "So You Think You Can Dance," prompting the GRAMMY winner to reach out to the duo to record a new version.

Released in 2014, Is There Anybody Out There? peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200. The album features 13 tracks co-written by Axel and Vaccarino, including "Say Something," "Already Home" and "Rockstar." A Great Big World picked up their first career GRAMMY for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for "Say Something" with Aguilera at the 57th GRAMMY Awards on Feb. 8.

The duo's upcoming tour itinerary includes select dates in March and April.
