Today, Sapiens, the underground dance label run by French left-of-center DJ/producer Agoria, declared May 1 as Re:Generation Day, "a day dedicated to bringing four emerging artists to the front." The underground DJ/producers getting the spotlight—Henri Bergmann, Parallells, Mozaïk and Mooglie—will all release an EP on Sapiens next Friday.
As a taste of the fire these tracks will offer, Bergmann's expansive, driving Creature is available to stream today. Listen below and read on to learn more about the artists and their releases.

"I am convinced, more than ever, that a loud voice is needed to support artists and future leaders. I most probably became an activist when I had to strive to organize techno and rave parties, which forced me to stand up to the local authorities in order to create the Nuits Sonores Festival in Lyon, France. In that respect, the idea of Re:Generation Day emerged—a day dedicated to bringing four emerging artists to the front. I am fond of their music, and I hope, so will you be, and that somehow it will regenerate you," label maestro Agoria said in a press release.
An in-demand house and techno act, London's Bergmann was recently signed on to iconic Berlin club/label Watergate's roster and is set to release more music this year on her own label Automatik. "Creature" features haunting vocals from Italian duo Underspreche, with three edits of the infectious track, including a Radio Edit and Club Mix, making up her EP.
Dutch brother duo Parallells grew up playing in the jazz conservatory and later founded Klassified Records and its namesake festival in their former hometown of Southern France. On "Blooming Flower," they deliver a slow burn, sunrise-set-ready sound layer with piano and moody vocals from Abundance.
Another brother duo, Mozaïk, hail from Bordeaux, France and create enchanting music full of synthesizers, tribal drums and transcendent melodies. On their upcoming Rila EP, they "Mavembe" takes listeners on a journey to a distant desert landscape, while "Rila" brings us into the evening with its driving bassline. An instrumental version of the title track evens things out.
Finally, Mooglie is a Parisian electronic composer and formally trained bassist and guitarist whose sound samples techno, Italo disco, new wave and more. His Prélude EP features two tracks, the synthy, deep title cut and an outright techno banger, "Monkey Disorder."
These artists and releases embody Agoria's eclectic influences and inspirations heard in his music and DJ sets, and his creative ethos of helping listeners "drift," or joyfully flow with all the twists and turns of the music. As the press release aptly put it, "These EPs are a fantastic showcase of some exciting new talents that all bear the emotional and melodic hallmarks that have made Agoria such an icon."
All four EPs are available for pre-order now on Sapien's Bandcamp, with all proceeds going directly to the artists.
