Streaming giant Amazon Music has launched its new Amazon Music For Artists platform, an artist- and creator-centric mobile app offering data analytics and streaming insights into their on-platform listener audience and fan base.

The new app, which comes paired with the Amazon Music For Artists companion website, offers useful tools and information, such as a global view of streaming data for individual tracks and albums, geographic-based audience insights and an overview on track placements and performance on curated playlists and stations across Amazon Music.

The Amazon Music For Artists app pulls data starting from January 2018 and updates streaming data multiple times an hour, according to the accompanying website, offering insights virtually in real time.

While most major streaming platforms, including Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube and SoundCloud, offer similar services, Amazon Music For Artists stands out, as The Verge points out, as it offers artists and creators trending and performance insights on Alexa, Amazon's voice-command technology and hardware, via a feature they're calling "Daily Voice Index."

As smart speakers continue to change the way we listen to music, voice recognition technology could be the next frontier in the music industry, positing a service like Amazon Music, which recently reached 55 million subscribers worldwide, in a lane all its own.
