- Born Adele Laurie Blue Adkins on May 5, 1988, in London, England
- Adele's sophomore album, 21, became her first chart-topping album in the United States. The album's lead track, "Rolling In The Deep," established the GRAMMY winner as an international star, topping the singles charts in 11 countries.
- Adele won her first two GRAMMYs at the 51st GRAMMY Awards in 2009: Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for her hit "Chasing Pavements." That same year, Adele made her GRAMMY stage debut performing "Chasing Pavements" with Sugarland. She performed "Fastlove" in tribute to the late George Michael at the 59th GRAMMYs in 2017.
- Did you know? Adele is one of two female solo artists to win Album Of The Year twice for their own solo albums. The other is Taylor Swift.
- Adele performed a rendition of "Cracklin' Rosie" at the 2009 MusiCares Person of the Year gala honoring Neil Diamond. The annual Person of the Year gala raises funds for MusiCares, which provides services and resources that cover a wide range of financial, medical and personal emergencies for music people.
- During her 2011 world tour, Adele required concertgoers with complimentary tickets to make a $20 donation to Sands, an organization that supports parents who lose children and researches solutions to neonatal deaths.
