  • Born Amy Jade Winehouse on Sept. 14, 1983, in London, England. Died July 23, 2011
  • Amy Winehouse's sophomore album, 2006's Back To Black, made her a worldwide sensation, with the autobiographical Top 10 hit, "Rehab," leading the way. The full-length peaked at No. 2 in the U.S. and topped the chart in dozens of other countries.
  • Winehouse was in London performing via satellite when she earned a then-record five awards at the 50th GRAMMY Awards in 2008, including Record and Song Of The Year for "Rehab" and Best New Artist.
  • Did you know? Winehouse hired the late soul singer Sharon Jones' back-up band, the Dap Kings, to accompany her on the tour following the release of Back To Black
  • The posthumous Amy Winehouse Foundation partnered with housing provider Centra Care and Support in 2016 to open Amy's Place in East London, a shelter for women recovering from drug and alcohol addiction.
