Biography

  • Born Kenneth Eric Church May 3, 1977, in Granite Falls, North Carolina
     
  • Church's first single, 2006's "How 'Bout You," peaked at No. 14 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart. The song was featured on his debut album, Sinners Like Me, which reached No. 29 on the Billboard 200.
     
  • He scored his first GRAMMY nomination for 2011 for Best Country Album for his third studio album, Chief. He made his GRAMMY stage debut with a performance of "Give Me Back My Hometown" at the 57th GRAMMY Awards in 2015.
     
  • Church graduated from Appalachian State University in North Carolina with a degree in marketing.
     
  • In 2015 Church took part in a special GRAMMY Living Histories program with GRAMMY winner Gregg Allman. The duo discussed the legacy of concert promoter Bill Graham and performed unplugged.
     
  • Church and his wife, Katherine, founded the Chief Cares Fund in 2013 to aid underprivileged families in Tennessee and North Carolina, as well as support causes in countries such as Nepal and Haiti.
