Born Imogen Jennifer Heap on Dec. 9, 1977, in Havering, East London, England
Imogen Heap released her debut album iMegaphone in 1998. The singles "Oh Me, Oh My" and "Shine" received airplay and acclaim in the United States, as well as in her home country. In 2005 Heap's audience grew even further when her song "Hide And Seek" was featured in the closing scene of the season two finale of the hit TV show "The O.C."
Heap received her first GRAMMY 2009 for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical for Ellipse.
Did you know? Heap was classically trained on a variety of instruments, including piano, cello, and clarinet.
In 2011 Heap performed at a benefit concert to help rebuild New Zealand's Unlimited Panega Tawhiti High School in the aftermath of a 6.3-magnitude earthquake.
