Born Lindsey Adams Buckingham on Oct. 3, 1949, in Palo Alto, Calif.

Buckingham joined Fleetwood Mac in 1975 and quickly emerged as a dominant songwriting and production force, with hits including "Go Your Own Way" (No. 10), "Tusk" (No. 8) and "Big Love" (No. 5).

In 1981 he released his debut solo album, Law And Order, which featured the Top 10 hit "Trouble." In 2017 Buckingham teamed with Fleetwood Mac bandmate Christine McVie for a duet album, Lindsey Buckingham/Christine McVie, which debuted at No. 17 on the Billboard 200.

With Fleetwood Mac, Buckingham won two GRAMMYs, including Album Of The Year, at the 20th GRAMMY Awards for Rumours.

Two Fleetwood Mac albums have been inducted into the GRAMMY Hall Of Fame: Fleetwood Mac (1975) and Rumours (1977).

Did you know? Buckingham learned how to play guitar on a plastic Mickey Mouse guitar.

In 2018 Fleetwood Mac will become the first-ever band to receive the MusiCares Person of the Year award in honor of their support for MusiCares, which provides critical financial, health and addiction services to members of the music community.
