- Born Natalie Maria Cole on Feb. 6, 1950, in Los Angeles, California. Died Dec. 31, 2015
- Natalie Cole had her first Top 10 hit with "This Will Be" from her debut solo album, Inseparable, in 1975.
- Cole earned her first wins for 1975 for Best New Artist Of The Year and Best R&B Vocal Performance, Female for "This Will Be." She performed the song during her GRAMMY stage debut at the 18th GRAMMYs.
- Did you know? Cole made her singing debut at age 6 on a recording of "I'm Good Will, Your Christmas Spirit" with her father, Nat "King" Cole.
- In 1993 she was honored as the MusiCares Person of the Year. The official GRAMMY Week event gala raises funds for MusiCares, which provides services and resources that cover a wide range of financial, medical and personal emergencies for music people.
- Throughout her career, Cole supported the University Kidney Research Organization dedicated to kidney disease research.
