On the heels of the successful three-part series The New Edition Story, BET has greenlit The Bobby Brown Story, picking up on the GRAMMY-winning artist's solo career where the story of his original group left off.

The upcoming series will feature actor Woody McClain, who starred in "The New Edition Story," continuing his role of a lifetime as Bobby Brown. According to BET, The Bobby Brown Story will be one of "redemption," and involve the same writer (Abdul Williams) and executive producer (Jesse Collins) as The New Edition Story.
The network is currently casting other roles integral to Brown's story, including Whitney Houston, Teddy Riley, L.A. Reid and Babyface.
BET has high hopes for the project, and big shoes to fill. The New Edition Story garnered 4.4 The film is slated for a fall 2018 release.
