In a heartfelt statement released to the Houston Chronicle yesterday, 22-time GRAMMY winner Beyoncé announced plans to help support relief and rebuilding efforts in her hometown of Houston, in the wake of the devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey this past weekend.

"My heart goes out to my hometown, Houston, and I remain in constant prayer for those affected and for the rescuers who have been so brave and determined to do so much to help," said the singer on Monday, adding that she plans to work closely with her pastor, Rudy Rasmus, of St. John's United Methodist Church in downtown Houston, to direct funding and support from her BeyGOOD Foundation to "implement a plan to help as many as we can."

Beyoncé's BeyGOOD Foundation was established in 2013 to help channel philanthropic aid to places in dire need around the world. The singer has previously mobilized the Foundation to work towards providing clean, suitable drinking water in Burundi and Flint, Mich.
