The closing ceremony to this year's Invictus Games just got a lot more entertaining. Today, GRAMMY winner Bruce Springsteen announced he'll perform at the final night of the week-long festivities on Sept. 30 in Toronto.

The event brings together 550 ill, injured, and wounded servicemen and women from 17 nations to compete in 12 adapted sports, all to demonstrate soldiers' and veterans' drive to overcome any challenge and the power of sport on their journey to recovery. The games began when Prince Harry visited the U.S.-based Warrior Games in 2013 and formed the Invictus Games Foundation, launching an international version the following year.

Springsteen joins GRAMMY winners Bryan Adams, Kelly Clarkson and others on the bill for the final celebration. Additionally, Canadian artists Sarah McLachlan, Alessia Cara and the Tenors will perform at the Games' opening ceremonies on Sept. 23.  

"At the Invictus Games, it's not just about the hurdles that competitors experienced during competition, but about overcoming the obstacles that life has presented them," said Springsteen. "The Games are a remarkable opportunity for brothers and sisters in arms to join forces and demonstrate the true strength of their spirit. It is an absolute honor and privilege to perform for them at the closing ceremony as a send-off to a week of competition in Toronto."
