June was an exciting month for Paul McCartney fans as he previewed the first two songs from his upcoming album and performed one of them live in Liverpool on Carpool Karaoke. His latest, Egypt Station, is due for release on Sept. 7. On July 3 the 18-time GRAMMY winner announced that his Freshen Up Tour will kick off late that month in Canada with four performances. September might be the time to take a trip to Canada Station.

"We've always had such a fantastic time playing shows in Canada," said McCartney. "We can't wait to return in September for what should be another special run of shows. We are looking forward to freshening up our show and playing some of our songs from the new album alongside those songs we know you like to hear. Get ready to rock Canada!"
Tickets go on sale on July 13 for the concerts, starting with Quebec City on July 17 and Montreal on the July 20, an easy jaunt for Americans in the northeast. Then the Freshen Up Tour heads west to Winnipeg on July 28 followed by Edmonton July 30. Verified Fan registration for July 10 presale tickets will close on July 8.
All but one of its tracks are produced by Greg Kurstin, best known for his work with Adele, who produced the 2017 Foo Fighters album Concrete And Gold and won Producer Of The Year, Non-Classical at the 60th GRAMMY Awards for his work with them as well as other artists including Beck and Sia. At the 56th GRAMMY Awards, McCartney picked up a Best Rock Song win for "Cut Me Some Slack" with Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear of Nirvana, and his connection to Grohl continues on Egypt Station through Kurstin's involvement.
For those unable to head north, Texas beckons in October. McCartney will headline Austin City Limits 2018 with Childish Gambino, Metallica and many others — McCartney's only 2018 U.S. festival appearance.
