Sad news arrived today via a statement from soul singer Charles Bradley. The 68-year-old Daptone Records artist announced doctors have found cancer in his liver, forcing him to cancel his upcoming tour dates in order to undergo treatment. This heartbreaking news comes after Bradley revealed he'd been diagnosed with a stomach tumor last fall.
"I love all of you out there that made my dreams come true," Bradley said in the statement. "When I come back, I'll come back strong, with God's love. With God's will, I'll be back soon."
In all, 37 shows throughout North and South American and Europe have been canceled, according to Rolling Stone. While Bradley has been a musician since the 1960s, his breakthrough came in 2011 with his Daptone debut album, No Time For Dreaming. More recently, Bradley released his third album in 2016, Changes, which featured a moving rendition of a Black Sabbath classic as the title track.
