More than 40 years of rap and hip-hop is the centerpiece of a new 352-page book by Public Enemy co-founder Chuck D.

"Chuck D Presents This Day In Rap And Hip-Hop History" promises to offer one of the "most comprehensive, chronological histories of rap and hip-hop ever written." Curated personally by Chuck D, the book will take readers through a timeline of iconic moments in rap history from 1973 to present day, offering a snapshot of how the genre exploded from the Bronx into the most popular genre in the United States.
Informed by Chuck D's long-running show on Rapstation.com, this massive compendium also details the most influential songs in the genre's recorded history, from Sugarhill Gang's "Rapper's Delight" (GRAMMY Hall Of Fame, 2014) and Kurtis Blow's "Christmas Rappin'" to GRAMMY-winning recordings by Jay Z, Lauryn Hill and Kendrick Lamar. Also included are more than 100 portraits drawn by Shepard Fairey and key events in hip hop history, from Grandmaster Flash's first scratch through Tupac's hologram at Coachella.
