Concord Music has purchased legendary jazz label Savoy Label Group, adding yet another catalog to its growing portfolio, Variety reports. With Savoy comes a catalogue of over 3,000 master recordings from jazz greats such as Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderley, and more.

As part of the acquisition of Savoy, Concord also takes in adult rock/alternative label 429 Records, whose eclectic roster includes Mick Fleetwood, LL Cool J, Boz Scaggs, Robbie Robertson, Little Feat, Los Lobos, Joe Cocker, Meat Loaf, and many more. Along with this purchase, Concord enters a multi-year consulting deal with Savoy's former owner, Steve Vining, enabling Vining to record and deliver new projects to Concord.

“Savoy is a great combination of both legendary masters and incredible recent recordings by a number of wonderful contemporary artists,” said Glen Barros, Chief Opperating Officer fo Concord Music. “We are so very proud that it is now a part of Concord Music. And as Steve Vining has done a great job of building Savoy over the recent past, we very much look forward to all that he will bring to our company in the future.”

This isn't the first major purchase Concord's made in recent years. Since being purchased in 2013, Concord has acquired Wind-up Records, Loma Vista Records, Vanguard, Sugar Hill, and more recently Fearless Records, Razor & Tie, and music publisher Imagem, which includes an array of artists from Daft Punk to Rogers & Hammerstein.
