Tomorrow, for one night only, fans of legendary psych-rock interstellar travelers Pink Floyd and the singular sounds of their legendary guitarist David Gilmour will be able to flock to movie theaters around the world to see a very special screening of the guitar god's new concert film, Live In Pompeii.

The film showcases sound and footage from Gilmour's July 2016 two-night-stand in the very same amphitheater where he and the other members of Pink Floyd filmed their famous 1972 concert film Pink Floyd: Live In Pompeii nearly 45 years earlier.
While Gilmour's 2016 shows were before a live stadium audience, the original Pink Floyd performances at the amphitheater in Pompeii were notable at the time for being filmed in an empty area, a directorial choice taken to separate the movie from contemporary concert films like Woodstock and Gimme Shelter, which placed equal focus on the band and the audience itself (as explained by Toby Manning in The Rough Guide To Pink Floyd).
Gilmour's Live In Pompeii will see an audio and home video release later this month following tomorrow's screening, though and exact release date is yet to be announced.
