Demi Lovato is having a busy fall. Not only is she releasing her latest album, Tell Me You Love Me on Sept. 29, but she has an upcoming personal documentary series and has been active in the natural disaster relief efforts over the last several weeks. Now, she has just added another distinction of honor to her name, Global Citizen Ambassador.
Announced at the Global Citizen Festival on Sept 23 in New York, Lovato will champion the mental health of young people impacted by violence and war in Iraq and other similar areas.
The "Sorry Not Sorry" singer will join with Global Citizen to fund a Save the Children pilot program titled Healing and Education Through the Arts to provide children with mental health support through the arts in the Kirkuk and Salah al Din regions of Iraq.

"Ending the stigma around mental health conditions and supporting internally displaced children to build physical and mental resilience through education and access to justice is not a choice," Lovato said. "It needs to happen, and it needs to happen now."
