Who saw this collab coming?

Rod Stewart and Joe Jonas' DNCE collective will unite for a special performance of "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy" at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards on Aug. 27.

Their VMAs blowout will be preceded by the release of a newly recorded version of the track, which drops Aug. 25.

"Um yes please! We get the pleasure of working with the iconic legend himself!" read DNCE's IG post.

Originally released in 1978, Stewart's "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy" hit No. 1 on the Billboard 100 for four weeks. The rock-meets-disco barnburner earned two nominations at the 22nd GRAMMY Awards for Best Pop Vocal Performance, Male and Best Disco Recording. Rolling Stone ranked the track No. 308 on their 500 Greatest Songs Of All Time list.

DNCE — Jonas, Jack Lawless, JinJoo Lee, and Cole Whittle — are no strangers to interpreting classic songs. The quartet performed a sweet rendition of "Night Fever" at "Stayin' Alive: A GRAMMY Salute To The Music Of The Bee Gees" earlier this year.

Stewart, who just wrapped a summer tour with fellow GRAMMY winner Cyndi Lauper, will resume residency shows at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on Aug. 26. DNCE are set to join Bruno Mars for tour dates in South America starting in November.
