Now 40 years into his prolific career as "The Beloved Entertainer," GRAMMY-winning British singer/songwriter Elvis Costello has announced his latest spectacle: a charity solo concert to benefit Austin-based non-profit, Musician Treatment Foundation.

Scheduled for Oct. 22 at Austin's Paramount Theatre, the show will raise funds to help MTF pay for medical care for musicians needing treatment for their hands, arms or shoulders. Costello and his GRAMMY-winning jazz singer/songwriter wife, Diana Krall, sit on the board for MTF.

"It is a great honor to have Elvis playing such an integral part in this new effort to help musicians and keep the music playing," said MTF founder Dr. O. Alton Barron MD according to Billboard. "His grace, humility, and strong belief in our mission is an inspiration to us all."

For Elvis' part, in addition to generously offering his talents for the cause, he is taking the set list for the event very seriously. With an expansive catalog to pull from, the singer promises to cover many corners of the Costello collection. He has dubbed the upcoming two-hour performance "Hits & Headlines / Waifs & Strays."

"I never like to take my best known songs for granted and prefer to earn the right to sing them again in the company of songs that may be new to your ears but have become extremely vivid to me in my recent performances," Costello said. "As the title of the show suggests, this is an evening of heart and humor. There will be something for everyone."

Tickets go on sale Aug. 25 via the MTF website.
