BTS made the last of their U.S. appearances on Ellen DeGeneres a week ago before heading home to South Korea. Was it a mistake to think the flurry of K-Pop excitement was going to quiet down for a little? Thanks to helping hands from GRAMMY nominees Steve Aoki and Desiigner on BTS' "Mic Drop" remix, the answer is, "Yes."

"Mic Drop" has entered the Billboard Hot 100 on the Dec. 16 chart at No. 28. For perspective, the explosive success of "DNA" placed its debut at No. 67. This the first time any K-pop track has begun its chart life in the top 40. Desiigner has been hyping the tune and fans have pressured radio stations and succeeded in getting "Mic Drop" into rotation.

We'll see what kind of legs "Mic Drop" has as it stays out there, but so far it's backing up the good-natured boasting in its lyrics. The only 3 K-pop acts to have made it into the Top 40 before are CL, Psy and Wonder Girls, and none of them entered this hot. BTS' "ARMY" of fans knows the U.S. visit is over, but the excitement continues.
