Many artists dream of getting their chance to perform on music's biggest stage, and trumpet player Miranda Agnew is no different. A 2017 GRAMMY Camp — Jazz Session participant, Agnew was invited to perform "America The Beautiful" in conjunction with Recording Academy President/CEO Neil Portnow's speech on the importance of music in the United States.
"I tried to not think about anything and I didn't look at the audience," Agnew told Arizona Sonora News about her GRAMMY performance. "I just closed my eyes and tried to play as nicely as I could and send that message of unity."
A senior at Tucson Jazz Institute in Arizona, Agnew also spoke about her GRAMMY Camp audition and revealed she'll be attending Harvard University in the fall.
