As a 2016 GRAMMY Amplifier winner, Miami-based R&B singer/songwriter Kirby Maurier earned the opportunity to perform a multicity tour, including a date in conjunction with a major festival. In this exclusive behind-the-scenes video, Maurier discusses the vote of confidence she received from GRAMMY-nominated singer/songwriter D'Wayne Wiggins (Tony! Toni! Toné!) and the lessons she learned throughout her tour, which included stops in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Austin, Texas, for the South by Southwest music festival.

"As an artist, I believe the GRAMMY Amplifier program has given me more affirmation," said Maurier. "I've heard from D'Wayne, 'Hey, I'm a good songwriter.' Hearing it from somebody else is like, you know, confirmation."

Maurier is one of three winners of the fourth annual GRAMMY Amplifier. The winners were chosen by this year's Amplifier curators — GRAMMY winner Lzzy Hale of Halestorm and GRAMMY nominees Big Sean and Sam Hunt.
