Minneapolis-based Americana artist and 2015 GRAMMY Amplifier winner Wes-Tone released his new single "Diamond In The Rough" on July 23. In this exclusive behind-the-scenes making-of video, Wes-Tone details his experience recording the single, collaborating with GRAMMY-winning producer Ben Fowler and how "Diamond In The Rough" became a duet with singer/songwriter Danielle Diamond, among other topics.

"The lyrics of ["Diamond In The Rough"] just explain where I was at that point in time," said Wes-Tone. "I met [Danielle Diamond] along the way. We bonded over music and then got to know each other more, and we just wrote love songs back and forth to one another."

Produced by Fowler (Eric Clapton, Blake Shelton, Taylor Swift), "Diamond In The Rough" features vocals by Wes-Tone and Diamond. The track was recorded during a two-day session at Ocean Way Studios in Nashville, Tenn.

"I sure hope Wes leaves here inspired to create more, to write more, to record more," said Fowler. "I hope it's just a launching point for him."

Wes-Tone is one of three winners of the third annual GRAMMY Amplifier. The winners were chosen by Amplifier ambassador and GRAMMY winner Mark Ronson and this year's program curators — GRAMMY winners the Band Perry and Ziggy Marley and singer/songwriter Allen Stone. As an Amplifier winner, Wes-Tone earned a studio session with a GRAMMY-winning producer.
