The GRAMMY Museum has an exciting new opportunity for California high school student songwriters. The Museums's popular five-day songwriting workshop, Summer Session, will be offered online for the first time this June, and none other than producer/songwriter Boi-1da, who has worked with some of the biggest names in music, including Drake, Rihanna, Eminem, Nicki Minaj, Nas, Lana Del Rey, Kendrick Lamar, Beyoncé and Jay-Z, has been confirmed to participate as a guest professional.

The online workshop, which typically takes place at GRAMMY Museum L.A. Live for Los Angeles-based students, will offer enriching content in an interactive digital format. Summer Session provides young songwriters and composers, who are currently enrolled in high school (grades 9–12), the resources necessary to build a solid foundation in songwriting.  

The program will help student songwriters develop their musical collaboration and communication skills, which are also critical and useful in various careers in and out of the music industry.

Boi-1da will participate during the workshop as a guest professional where workshop students will be able to participate in a Q&A to ask him about songwriting, collaboration and more.

Summer Session is free and all students must apply to attend. The application for is now live, and the deadline to apply has been extended until June 2, 2020, or until the program is at capacity, whichever comes first. California high school students can apply here.
