Gotye and Kimbra's "Somebody That I Used To Know" was an undeniable smash in 2012, as proven by its Record Of The Year win at the 2013 GRAMMY Awards.

But while winning a GRAMMY is certainly a special honor, Gotye was most excited to receive the award from the one and only Prince.

"A little bit lost for words to recieve the man standing behind us with the cane," Gotye says — while a bejeweled Kimbra grins behind him — upon receiving the golden gramophone from the Purple One. "Many years listening to this man's music growing up, and a big reason I was inspired to make music. Thank you."

With Gotye hailing from Australia and Kimbra from New Zealand, the Record Of The Year win marked a historic moment: Kimbra became the first New Zealander to win the award, and Gotye is only the third Australian to take home the honor. “Somebody That I Used To Know” also won Best Pop Duo/Group Performance that night.
