Rock hero Bruce Springsteen is no stranger to the GRAMMY stage, having won 20 golden gramophones over the course of his illustrious career. Written in response to the Sept. 11 attacks on New York City, "The Rising" was the title track on Springsteen's 12th studio album of the same name. At the 45th GRAMMY Awards, "The Rising" won for Best Rock Song and for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance. It was also nominated for Song of the Year.
