Hal Blaine's talent is indisputably everywhere as the percussion behind the most iconic sounds of '60s U.S. pop culture, including Simon And Garfunkel's "Mrs. Robinson" and the Carpenter's "Top Of The World." Blaine, who is most famously associated with the session musicians group he founded, the Wrecking Crew, was the drums behind 107 Top Ten hits in the '60s.

On the upcoming "GRAMMY Salute To Music Legends," Blaine, a Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement recipient, will be honored by GRAMMY-winning trumpet player Herb Alpert of Herb Alpert And The Tijuana Brass. In honor of Blaine, Alpert will perform his song "Taste Of Honey," which originally featured Blaine on drums. 

"He was one of those drummers that walked into a studio and was willing to help the producer and the artist, asked them what they wanted. He'd give them that plus much, much more," Alpert said.
