Between juggling his own music and his OVO Sound label, doesn't Drake have enough on his plate? It would appear not since Drizzy announced the dates and performers for his 2017 installment of OVO Fest, taking place Aug. 7 in Toronto.
Fittingly, the OVO crew will take over the eighth annual festival in a coming of age celebration for his aforementioned label, a Warner Bros. Records subsidiary. According to XXL, Drake will surround himself with performers representing his talented artist roster, including:
- PartyNextDoor: OVO Sound's first signed artist in 2013, who has several successful releases and collaborations under his belt, including writing Rihanna's chart-topper "Work" from Anti.
- Majid Jordan: The audio track for his single "One I Want," featuring PartyNextDoor, hit YouTube on June 15, and it has more than 400,000 views to date.
- Roy Wood$: He emerged with Drake's help in 2015 followed by a prolific year of new material in 2016. His unique style of blending R&B with hip-hop has pushed the OVO Sound atmosphere into new dimensions.
- dvsn (pronounced "division"): The duo was nominated for the Album Of The Year GRAMMY for their work as featured artists on Drake's "Faithful" on Views.
Aside from this fresh crop of talent, who knows what special guest stars will make an appearance on the OVO Fest stage. And with the festival reportedly selling out in minutes, it's shaping up to be one of the hottest festival tickets of the summer.
