Since taking home two GRAMMY Awards for his efforts on the 2015 album, Something More Than Free, Jason Isbell has slowed down.
His latest artistic offering comes in music video form, a mesmerizing journey into the heart of his haunting "If We Were Vampires" from his newly released album with the 400 Unit, The Nashville Sound.

The animated video manifests the song's vivid lyrical visions of eternal love and inevitable mortality, two topics Isbell handles with as much dexterity as any songwriter on earth. The command of his craft these days seems to be matched only by the inspiration and support of his wife, singer/songwriter and violinist Amanda Shires. Her airy harmony vocals and melancholy violin part make "… Vampires" soar and shake, as evident in a recent performance of the song on "CBS This Morning."
Isbell and the 400 Unit have been on the road this summer in support of The Nashville Sound. The demand to catch this band live in the town the album's named after is so high, Isbell and crew recently announced they're adding a sixth night to their stop at the historic Ryman Auditorium in downtown Nashville, Tenn. All six shows are sold out.
