Two GRAMMY winners from different ends of the pop spectrum are headed to a common destination: Broadway. But with a slight twist.
Jason Mraz is set to make his Broadway debut over a 10-week period in "Waitress" starting on Nov. 3. The "Lucky" singer/songwriter will take on the role of Dr. Pomatter, a "new-to-town gynecologist who offers local diner employee and baker Jenna Hunterson ( played by Betsy Wolfe) an escape from her abusive marriage," according to Playbill.
"Waitress" features music by GRAMMY nominee Sara Bareilles. Mraz appeared as a guest artist on "Bad Idea" and "You Matter To Me" from her 2015 album, What's Inside: Songs From Waitress — both of which are performed in the musical.
Meanwhile, "The Cher Show," a show chronicling the colorful life and career of the one and only Cher, will debut on Broadway in fall 2018. Sure to feature iconic hits such as "Believe," If I Could Turn Back Time" and "I Got You Babe" (GRAMMY Hall Of Fame, 2017), the jukebox musical will reportedly feature three actresses playing Cher at various stages in her career. And while the iconic singer/actress herself will not appear in the show, it's exciting for her just the same.

"My life as a musical on Broadway: It seems crazy, exciting and bizarre — but that's probably how my life seems to most people," said Cher via a statement.
"The Cher Show" will debut in Chicago in June 2018 before heading to Broadway. The show could, in theory, help Cher complete a personal milestone: She is a Tony Award away from achieving EGOT status (winning an Emmy, GRAMMY, Oscar, and Tony).
