In a new long-form interview with Academy of Achievement, guitarist Jimmy Page was asked about plans for 2018, which will be the 50th anniversary of Led Zeppelin's forming.

"There'll be Led Zeppelin product coming out, for sure, that people haven't heard, because I'm working on that," said Page. "Next year will be the 50th year, so there's all manner of surprises coming out."

In 2014 and 2015, Page kept busy with helming an expanded reissue campaign for the Zeppelin catalog. Each of the band's nine studio albums, from 1969's Led Zeppelin to 1982's Coda, were remastered and augmented with previously unreleased outtakes. The reissues were released in various configurations, including lavish deluxe sets containing vinyl LPs, CDs and a companion hardcover book. He oversaw an expanded edition of The Complete BBC Sessions followed in 2016.

The new news of Page's 50th-anniversary plans would seem to sync with John Davis' October announcement that he was working in the studio on Zeppelin material. "Today I am mostly mastering Led Zeppelin," wrote Davis, who collaborated with Page on the reissue campaign.

Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award recipients Led Zeppelin have four recordings inducted into the GRAMMY Hall Of Fame, including the albums Led Zeppelin and Led Zeppelin IV.
