Country superstar Kenny Chesney is opening his heart and his wallet to help hurricane victims in the Virgin Islands. The GRAMMY nominee has pledged to donate all proceeds from the sale of his new album, aptly titled Songs For The Saints, to help the region in their recovery from September 2017's Hurricane Irma.

"I wanted to make a record that shows the spirit and resilience of the people who live on those islands," Chesney said in a statement. "To me, it’s about the hope, the strength, the joy, and the courage they are bringing to the task of rebuilding after a kind of destruction no one has ever seen before."
Chesney has close ties to the Virgin Islands, as he has a house in St. Johns, and this isn't the first time he's lent a hand. His Love for Love City Fund stepped in to help coordinate the shipment of supplies to the Islands via Chesney's private plane. He has also coordinated the rescue and replacement of many homeless pets on the islands and even contributed some of his own money to the cause.
Songs For The Saints is due out July 27 and features some big-time collaborations with the likes of Jimmy Buffet, Ziggy Marley and Mindy Smith. The album's lead single, "Get Along," is a tale of people coming together in this big world with an inventive extended chorus that pushes on the barricades of conventional pop-country songwriting.
Chesney is currently in the middle of his Trip Around The Sun 2018 tour, lighting up audiences across North America with his feel good music and message.
