Previous GRAMMY nominees Julianne Jordan and Julia Michels were the big winners on Feb. 13 at the Guild of Music Supervisors 9th Annual Awards, winning two out of 18 categories for their work on A Star Is Born.
Just three days earlier, at the 61st GRAMMY Awards, Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga won Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for the film's song "Shallow." They were also the front-and-center faces for the music-movie phenomenon, but it was Jordan and Michels' work behind the scenes and behind the soundtrack that won for Best Music Supervision For Films Budgeted Over $25 Million and Best Song/Recording Created For A Film for "Shallow."

Lukas Nelson performed "Shallow" at the GMS ceremony, held in Los Angeles at Theater at Ace Hotel. Nelson and his band, Promise Of The Real, acted as Cooper's onscreen backing musicians in A Star Is Born.
GMS also recognizes music in advertising, trailers and videogames: A good example of the latter was Jordan Silverberg's work on Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse (Trailer 1), which won Best Music Supervision In A Film Trailer.
In other wins, Margaret Yen, who won Best Compilation Soundtrack Album For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media at the 51st GRAMMY Awards for her work on the film Juno, took home the Best Music Supervision For Films Budgeted Under $10 Million for her work with Alison Litton on Vox Lux.
Robin Urdang, who was nominated at the 61st GRAMMY Awards for Best Compilation Soundtrack For Visual Media for her work on "Call Me By Your Name," won the GMS award Best Music Supervision In A Television Comedy/Musical for "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel."
Another previous GRAMMY nominee is Susan Jacobs, who won Best Music Supervision In A Television Limited Series Or Movie at the GMS ceremony for her work on "Sharp Objects."
While the cast of "Black-ish" brought the show's song "Juneteenth" to life, it was Gabe Hilfer who got the credit for Best Song/Recording Created For Television. (Watch his advice to aspiring music supervisors in the video below.)
