The late Leonard Cohen's final book, The Flame, will hit the shelves in October 2018. According to The Guardian, the book's publisher, Canongate, says the collection will be made up of mostly new material.

In addition to Cohen's poetry, the book will also include full lyrics from the legendary artist's final three albums, illustrations and sections from his notebook, as well as prose pieces. Cohen had published poetry and novels in the '50s and '60s before he became a songwriter.

Robert Kory, former manager and the trustee of Cohen's estate revealed in a statement that the selections of material in the book comment on "the flame and how our culture threatened its extinction."

Kory also says Cohen had been working on The Flame as one of his main projects prior to his death, and that the book, "finished only days before his death, reveals to all the intensity of his inner fire."
