Citing recent escalations surrounding the coronavirus pandemic, the well-known Las Vegas-based music and arts festival Life Is Beautiful has officially canceled its 2020 installation.

The three-day interactive festival was set to take place across multiple stages on Sept. 18 – 20 in downtown Vegas, and although headliners had yet to be announced, in previous years the event has stacked its lineups with GRAMMY-winning artists like Gorillaz, Lorde, Travis Scott, Billie Eilish, Post Malone, Vampire Weekend, The Weeknd and Tyler, The Creator, amongst others.

In a statement posted to Instagram regarding the cancelation, Life Is Beautiful assured fans that the festival would make a full return in 2021, saying, "Nothing would make us happier than to gather with you this September, but given these unprecedented times we can no longer move forward with the Life Is Beautiful Festival in 2020. We will be making a full return 2021."

They continued, saying that the disappointment of a canceled 2020 festival only allows space to come back full force when live concerts and other large events have returned to public routine. "We were more excited than ever to share the vision of this year’s festival with you. Instead, this moment has given us the opportunity to pause and assess what is truly important," they wrote.

"It has given us the space to reflect and to grow, to refocus on our work, and to find new ways to give back to our community beyond the three days of the festival. Our hearts are heavy, but our resilience is unstoppable."
