Chance The Rapper had a surprise for us. Well, four to be exact. On July 18, the GRAMMY-winning rapper dropped four new tracks, including "Work Out," "65th & Ingleside," "Wala Cam" featuring Supa Bwe, and "I Might Need Security."

Though Chance had announced earlier in the week he planned to release a new album shortly before his headlining performance at the 50th anniversary edition of the Special Olympics in Chicago on July 22, it seems those plans fell through. Instead, he surprise-released these four new tracks that capture hope, joy, playfulness, and social justice.

Embedded in "I Might Need Security," Chance also dropped another surprise. He purchased the Chicago-based new and cultural site Chicagoist from public radio station WYNC who owned a variety of similar local city -ist news sites. He raps: "I got a hit-list so long I don't know how to finish/I bought the Chicagoist just to run you racist b****es out of business." Turns out it isn't just a turn of phrase.

"I'm extremely excited to be continuing the work of the Chicagoist, an integral local platform for Chicago news, events and entertainment," Chance said in a statement. "I look forward to re-launching it and bringing the people of Chicago an independent media outlet focused on amplifying diverse voices and content."

It may not be the album we were expecting, but we'll certainly take any new music the Coloring Book creator wants to lay on us. And as for the Chicagoist, we'll see what news Chance has up his sleeve next.
