On Sat., May 9, LIVEMEDAID will bring together powerful voices from both the global science and music communities for a special livestream to support Doctors Without Borders and their frontline healthcare workers fighting coronavirus around the world.
The five-hour extravaganza will feature hopeful conversations led by scientific thought-leaders including anthropologist Jane Goodall, environmental activist David Suzuki and astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, and music from the iconic Earth, Wind and Fire, Ed Robertson of Barenaked Ladies, GRAMMY-nominated Nigerien folk artist Bombino and others.

According to a press release, the livestream "will shine a spotlight on the global crisis caused by COVID-19, and celebrate hope, resilience and the human spirit. The fundraising event will provide insight into the collaboration between global scientists and researchers in their collective hunt for a cure and share ideas about what we can learn from the virus."
Other musical guests include Latin GRAMMY-winning Cuban-Canadian singer/songwriter Alex Cuba, TV and film singer/songwriter Patrick Watson, flamenco guitarist Jesse Cook, British rock trio Kings Daughters and singer/songwriter/producer Paul Anthony, with more to be announced.
Other expert scientists include anthropologist and ethnobotanist Dr. Wade Davis, Dr. Sarah Ives from the Netflix documentary Pandemic, climate scientist Dr. Katherine Hayhoe, infectious disease specialist Dr. Isaac Bogoch and Sweden's state epidemiologist Anders Tegnell.

The event is organized by Canadian scientific video company Underknown, whose content aims to share "complex subjects in a fun and engaging way to make science accessible to millennials." All money raised during the event will be donated to Doctors Without Borders.

"Science is more important than ever and we are committed to deliver credible, science-based information to a global audience who is searching for answers."
The event will take place this Sat., May 9 from 6:00 p.m. EST – 11:00 p.m. EST, livestreaming on LIVEMEDAID's Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and website.
