This year, MusiCares and the GRAMMY Foundation were proud sponsors of the Dfest Music Conference and Festival held July 24–25 in Tulsa, Okla. The Foundations conducted both a MusiCares substance abuse panel and an Entertainment Law Initiative legal panel during the conference portion of the festival. Established in 2002 to support emerging new artists, the conference consists of music panels, a tradeshow, music clinics, and artist mentoring. Each night featured performances by national recording artists on large outdoor festival stages while top local, regional and national emerging artists performed on a multitude of outdoor stages, indoor venues and club stages. Dfest has quickly become one of the top independent music conferences in the nation and the Midwest's largest music festival of its type, showcasing exciting new, diverse musical talent.
