In a landscape dominated by music streaming, more than 76 million active users turn to Pandora as their go-to service for internet radio. Now the service has a new president/CEO coming on board Sept. 18: Roger Lynch.

This past March, Pandora's founder Tim Westergren announced Pandora Premium, an on-demand streaming service priced at $9.99, as an option in addition to its Pandora Plus service. Since this announcement, Westergren departed as CEO in June and CFO Naveen Chopra has been Pandora's interim CEO.

Lynch joins Pandora from Sling TV, where he served as founding CEO and presided over the service's impressive growth. Prior to Sling TV, he worked as an executive at Dish Network.

Lynch has the task of converting more of Pandora's users to subscribers, about which he is optimistic.

"With a massive, diverse and highly engaged audience, a market-leading digital advertising business, a best-in-class product portfolio, and an extremely passionate and talented group of people, Pandora is well-positioned to capture an even greater market opportunity," Lynch said.
