"Hamilton" creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, whose parents came from Puerto Rico, has announced he will release a single on Oct. 6 to benefit Puerto Rico Hurricane Maria relief efforts.
While Miranda is keeping many of the song's details under wraps, including the song's title, he revealed on Twitter he would be "running around the country this weekend to get vocals."

Miranda told CNN he called every Puerto Rican he knew, and all the artists he reached out to agreed to participate in the recording. He hinted that two collaborators include Rubén Blades and "Hamilton" castmate Anthony Ramos.

He called the song "a love letter to Puerto Rico," and made a plea to remember Puerto Rico among the hurricane relief efforts.
"Puerto Ricans, that's 3.5 million American citizens, just like Texas, just like Florida," Miranda told CNN. "I know there's a tendency for fatigue because we've just been through two hurricanes. And we can't be fatigued when it comes to our fellow Americans."
