As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to rock the music industry, GRAMMY.com reached out to musicians to see how they were spending their days indoors. Today, Los Angeles-based rapper contradash shares his Quarantine Diary. His debut Interscope project, 'ALL-STAR,' is out now.
[10 a.m.] I start my day just like everyone else does, with a big cup of coffee. I'm hardly aware that I'm on earth until after this is finished. As a result of the coffee, I usually skip breakfast.
[11 a.m.] My first thought in the morning is usually to record music. After writing some ideas and getting some vocal practice in, I usually take a break and reserve some time for lunch by 2 p.m.
[2 p.m.] I enjoy getting some sun due to how badly I need it, so I choose to eat my lunch by the pool. I always catch my neighbors filming me when I'm out here, so I usually head back in pretty quickly.
[3 p.m.] After I showered and changed, my roommate and I decided to create a Rube Goldberg machine throughout the house. This ended up taking up most of our evening but I have zero regrets.
[7:30 p.m.] I reward myself with some video games and relax in my comfy clothes until it's time to work on more music.
[10 p.m.] I mix the ideas from earlier, which is usually where I spent the next four to six hours working. I've formed a habit of falling asleep at my desk unfortunately, and I tend to wake up in the middle of the night and realize I should sleep in my actual bed.
