As the coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic continues to rock the music industry, GRAMMY.com reached out to a few musicians to see how they were spending their days indoors. Today, touring vocalist Jessie Wagner (Lenny Kravitz, Chic, Duran Duran, Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul) shares her Quarantine Diary. Wagner's debut solo effort, Shoes Droppin, is set for release on Oct. 9 via Wicked Cool Records.
[8:14 a.m.] The sun spits his unwelcome rays in my eyes! Me and the sun have a love/hate relationship. If I turn away, I can get 15 more minutes....
[10:15 a.m.] Workout (sort of) completed!! Well.... I got a sit up in there at one point. I’m pretty sure...
[12:45 p.m.] Wardrobe panic! I don’t have time for a self-imposed outfit montage sequence! Quick! Pick something for the gig tonight!
[2:21 p.m.] Hair, makeup, outfit—check! It’s now time to drive two and a half hours in traffic to the Hamptons. May the traffic Gods be on my side.
[5:00 p.m.] Sound check! I have arrived safely, so now on to the most important part. Where’s the food?
[9:00 p.m.] That’s a wrap! The gig was fun, successful and safe! The crowd was a little farther away than I’m used to—six-feet rule and all. But better that than them cringing from my droplets of evening sweat falling in to their lobster rolls.
[9:15 p.m.] On the road again. I just can’t wait to get back home and shower again! Three hours in the sun does not a fresh Jessie make.
[11:59 p.m.] And I’m back where I started! Now, it’s time watch one more episode of "Call the Midwife" and pass out. Ahhh, now I await the sun's globules of light to drip into my eyes, and start all over again. #feelingblessed
