With RiRi's latest Anti single, "Desperado" topping the Dance Club Songs chart this week, she has now earned five hits in the No. 1 spot in 2017, marking the first time an artist has accomplished this feat. She bests Lady Gaga, Beyoncé and Katy Perry, who each had previously earned four No. 1s on the chart in a January to December time frame.
This places Rihanna, with 32 total No. 1s, as the artist with the second-most Dance Club Song chart toppers in the chart's 41-year history behind only Madonna, who has earned 46 No. 1s over her career. The third highest chart ranker is Beyoncé with 22, followed by Janet Jackson with 19 and Perry with 18.
Thanks to DJ Khaled's "Wild Thoughts" (featuring Rihanna and Bryson Tiller) and Rihanna's "Pose," "Sex With Me," and "Love On The Brain," in addition to "Desperado," remixed by 3LAU, this GRAMMY winner's success isn't slowing down.
