GRAMMY-nominated singer/songwriter and indie rock iconoclast Ryan Adams has kept a couple items in his ever-changing bag of alt-pop tricks, doling them out to his fans today just in time for Valentine's.

His new track "Baby I Love You" is his first new release in almost a year, following his 16th studio album Prisoner in Feb. 2017, which AllMusic deemed, "not a record that wallows in hurt, [but] an album that functions as a balm for bad times."
As his first musical follow-up to Prisoner, "Baby I Love You" trades further on Adams' ability to capture the essences of love's more bittersweet emotive siblings without ever wandering too deep into the swamps of self-pity. All in all, it makes for a fitting successor to the painful subject matter of Prisoner (re: the dissolution of his marriage to Mandy Moore), while beginning to show hints of a more positive outlook on the horizon. At the same time, Adams continuous ability to write with both his emotions and musical influences firmly on his sleeve (Tom Petty, Johnny Marr) always make for a pleasing sonic package, regardless of lyrical content.

And if a brand new track wasn't enough to sate Adams fans' Valentine's appetites, the singer managed to subtly sneak in an announcement of his first concert of 2018, which will take place at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colo., on June 14.
Tickets for the Red Rocks show are available now, as well as digital copies of "Baby I Love You." A 7" vinyl single of the track is also expected to be available soon via Adams Pax-Am Records.
