Scooter Braun became well known as a super manager after he signed Justin Bieber in a joint deal with Usher in 2008, and later Carly Rae Jepsen. Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, he is developing a new singing competition for CBS to go up against "American Idol" on ABC, "The Four" on Fox and "The Voice" on NBC.

Braun's track record of developing talent and content includes film, TV as an executive producer role on CBS' "Scorpion." His work with Bieber led to his own Album Of The Year GRAMMY nomination at the 59th GRAMMY Awards for Purpose, for which Braun co-wrote the title track.

While CBS has yet to comment on details, the series Braun may be developing for the network is still in the early stages. It's also unknown how big of a role Braun would play in the potential series, on- or off-camera.

This development comes after CBS declined to pick up "American Idol" because the price tag was too high. In addition, Braun may be exploring a role in Fox's new singing competition, "The Four," though there isn't official word on that development either.

Regardless, there appears to be some talent scouting in Braun's future. Only time will tell just how it shakes out.
