As announced last October, filming has commenced on the Pathé UK and Calamity Films movie Judy, with Renée Zellweger presenting Judy Garland's songs and struggles, set around her final London concerts in 1968. Get a first look below at the actress' stunning transformation into the beloved singing star.

Garland's GRAMMY recognition consists of two 1961 wins for Judy At Carnegie Hall at the 4th GRAMMY Awards — Album Of The Year (Other Than Classical) and Best Solo Vocal Performance, Female, both for Judy At Carnegie Hall  — then her 1997 Lifetime Achievement Award, and her recordings in the GRAMMY Hall Of Fame.

While her emotional life-struggles were cinematic as well as tragic, her musical authority was never in doubt. Judy will surely help introduce younger generations to Garland's greatness in her final years. And with Zellweger set to portray Garland, this is a film worth keeping on the radar.

Based on a script by Tom Edge ("The Crown"), the film is being directed by King Charles III's Rupert Goold, with Rufus Sewell as Garland's ex-husband Sidney Luft and Finn Wittrock ("American Crime Story") playing romantic interest Mickey Deans.

Details on an official release date for Judy are still forthcoming.
