"Call On God" has a special significance for the late Jones. It was among the songs she wrote in the '70s for E.L. Fields' Gospel Wonders, a gospel choir collective she sang with at the Universal Church of God in New York.
The song was retooled in the studio in 2007 with the Dap-Kings during the sessions for the 100 Days, 100 Nights album. The video features footage of Jones from those sessions.
At Jones' memorial service in 2016, Pastor Margot Fields, E.L. Fields' widow, and members of the Gospel Wonders performed a rendition of "Call On God." The Dap-Kings subsequently invited the members of the choir to contribute vocals to the version featured on Soul Of A Woman.
"Sharon always wanted to add background vocals to the song and she would have been happy to know that her old friends had come through to sing with her one final time," the Dap-Kings said in a statement.
Soul Of A Woman is due for release on Nov. 17.
