Twin-sister duo Tegan & Sara have announced a North American tour starting this spring and running through the summer. Dubbed the Tonight We're Seeing Colors Tour, the 40-date trek is split into two legs, with the first half launching in mid-May and running through early June, while the second portion starts in late July and runs through early September. The tour, which also includes a festival performance at BottleRock Napa Valley 2020 in May, will feature support from Georgia and Jackie Mendoza on the first leg of the tour and IDER and Claud on the second half. More dates will be announced soon.
In a post shared on the duo's official website, Tegan & Sara acknowledged the current health concerns impacting the music industry due to the global coronavirus outbreak, which has caused multiple festivals and tours to cancel or postpone, including Coachella and Stagecoach in Southern California.
"We are proceeding optimistically with our planning but acknowledge that we will watch the developing situation with COVID-19 closely and heed all recommendations about social gatherings as the tour approaches," they wrote.

The group is also taking actions to combat ticket scalpers and secondary ticket outlets for this tour, including omitting a pre-sale and limiting ticket purchases per person.
"Also, the spike in the actions of scalpers and secondary sites – buying up tickets to our shows and selling them for absurd prices online – is upsetting to us," they wrote in the same statement. "Touring is life to us. Know that while seeing us live hopefully brings joy and inspiration to all of you, it also delivers us the purpose and meaning WE need to keep going! So, we hope we'll see ALL of you out there in 2020!"

As well, the duo will donate $1 from every ticket sold on the tour to their Tegan and Sara Foundation, which "fights for health, economic justice and representation for LGBTQ girls and women," according to the foundation's website.
The forthcoming tour follows the duo's 2019 album, Hey, I'm Just Like You, released last September on Sire, and their accompanying memoir, "High School," a New York Times Bestseller.
Formed in the late '90s in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Tegan & Sara received their first and only GRAMMY nomination at the 55th GRAMMY Awards, held in 2013, when their 2011 DVD/live Album, Get Along, received a nod for Best Long Form Music Video.
Tickets for Tegan & Sara's Tonight We're Seeing Colors North American tour go on sale Friday, March 13, at 10 a.m. local time. For more information and for the full tour routing, visit the duo's official website.
